Well, it's never too early to start discussing the new album.  Here's the quote from Jason from the last Q&A ...

Quote
Just about done tracking the record now...it will be more acoustic guitar based than previous releases. It is tentatively called " The Changing Of The Guard" and should be out in the summer or early fall.

I really dug the style of the demo that was up a few months ago ... "Kicking The Can" was it?  Did anyone happen to save that?

I'm glad Jason's going to be using the guitar more on the next one. I Loved "Dial M", but I sure missed that great distinctive guiitar sound from older SF59 records.

This one will be more acoustic guitar-based than prior albums.

Oh, sorry. I mis-read that. Oh well. One can always hope for something in the future.

It would be a good change. Personally, I think he needs to change it up. After writing and producing the following albums, he should be done with this genre:

Old (2003)
Talking Voice vs. Singing Voice (2005)
My Island (2006)
Dial M (2008)

Maybe a jump like Americana to Fashion Focus is in order. What hasn't he accomplished with this style?

It's Starflyer 59. There are plans for vinyl the moment Jason records a demo. Tongue

Planning for vinyl and actually producing it are quite different things.  I'm guessing that Burnt Toast would be doing it if it were to happen.  Does anybody have any details?

i don't think there are any concrete plans. old and my island never got pressed, but i'm sure if dial m sold well on vinyl (?), and it was profitable for burnt toast... they'll do it. i'm sure we wont know until the end of the summer.

Jason said, back in August 08 (here), that "it is the goal to at some point have all of the Sf albums available on vinyl".
